The cross-examination day is a follow-on course to the courtroom skills training.
This intensive cross-examination training course helps you, as either a new or experienced expert witness, to refine and enhance your evidence-giving performance, and to gain mastery of your presentation. You will be cross-examined on 1 of your completed reports, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The second cross-examination is recorded.
This course can count towards the Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) expert witness certificate. We would advise that if you are taking 1 of the expert witness certificates that you attend the cross-examination day at least 2 months after the excellence in report writing course. If you are undertaking the Cardiff University Bond Solon expert witness certificate, then your recording will be submitted for assessment - if not you can keep it.
Successful completion of this course requires access an external online assessment. The online assessment platform may not be accessible from Civil Service department IT due to security restrictions. If you have any questions or believe you may be impacted by these restrictions, please contact support@governmentcampus.co.uk.
