Here are some frequently asked questions we receive about booking exams through the Government Campus and Curriculum framework.

How can I book an exam as a standalone product?

Generally, exams or resit exams should be booked directly with the supplier. Requesters/commissioners do not need to access these via the Learning Framework.

There are exceptions:

• Exams transferred across from the old core curriculum contract which can be booked via the Government Campus and Curriculum Helpdesk (see list below).
• Finance exams relating to qualifications provided per module in the off the shelf catalogue. We don't mandate that you book these through the framework. If it is easier for you they can be booked directly with the supplier. They can also be booked via the Government Campus and Curriculum Helpdesk.

Why are some exams available and others are not?

We carried forward a number technical products from the old core curriculum (previous contract KPMG had with CSHR) where we offered exams pertaining to these topics (see Appendix 1). Similarly, the finance exams are relevant to the finance qualifications we offer.

Can an apprentice book exam resits if the standalone product is available via the Learning Framework?

No. Apprentices should booked via the approved training route and provided [e.g. Dynamic Purchasing System].

Am I able to sit an exam face to face?

Yes. Now that there are no restrictions under current government guidelines for COVID-19 (coronavirus) this is now possible. KPMG will continue to monitor this and update our guidance if this changes. You can make a face to face booking for an exam using the OTS booking forms found here.

I’ve just booked a course/qualification with an exam at the end. What should I do?

For any course with an exam at the end, you’ll see a disclaimer message appear on Prospectus online as well as the OTS booking form. Please contact the Government Campus and Curriculum Helpdesk (support@governmentcampus.co.uk / 0203 640 7985) to discuss your individual requirements. KPMG’s suppliers will send joining instructions about the course, how to access and what the exam software requirements are two weeks ahead of the date of the course. Please check these access requirements carefully and contact the Helpdesk if you have any issues.

Sitting exams remotely requires me to download specific software, but my department/system doesn't allow me to download software onto my work laptop. What do I do?

When making a booking for any course involving an exam, as well as exams only, you’ll see a disclaimer message appear on Prospectus online as well as the OTS booking form. This message explains that you may be required to download software to sit an online assessment. If you unable to download this software to your work laptop/computer you can do this with a personal device. If you don’t have access to a personal device laptop hire is available for learning involving exams through our supplier QA. You can request this from the OTS booking form (OTS03926 - it is listed as ‘Laptop Hire – QA exams ONLY’). If your exam is via another provider we recommend use of personal device. If neither of these are possible please contact the Government Campus and Curriculum Helpdesk – support@governmentcampus.co.uk/0203 640 7985. Other options are available depending on the examining body (e.g. HTML).

Resits

Any resits through the framework need to be with the same supplier. If supplier is no longer part of the framework please submit a new learning requirement form to the Government Campus and Curriculum Helpdesk
